This morning, I ran out my favourite coffee beans. No cafe style coffee for me today. As I stared at my endless collection of teas, my eyes landed on a jar of instant freeze-dried coffee tucked away in the back. Clearly it was there for emergencies like this.
The past version of me would have been disappointed no ‘usual’ coffee meant my morning was already off to a bad start. And a thought crossed my mind: what part of this moment am I not exploring? More importantly, what part of myself am I not exploring?
I realised something. In many ways, I’ve been stretching myself trying to grow and expand but not always in ways I imagined. Instead of exploring new parts of who in am, I’ve been digging around in the old ones, looking for evidence of what I already know. Clinging to what is familiar, like that ‘morning coffee routine’ fall safe. But it wasn’t helping me to embrace life.
This digging felt like a trap, a way of holding onto outdated parts of myself instead of stepping into the unknown. Awakening, I’ve learned, isn’t about finding answers in the past. It’s about illuminating the darker corners of ourselves, nurturing the quiet strengths we’ve overlooked and embracing life in its unpredictable beauty.
Being the explorer ,means letting go of the search of what’s buried and instead seeking what’s waiting to be discovered. It’s about keeping your heart and mind open to the adventure of life even it looks different than expected.
And here’s the best part these little moments like my coffee conundrum, are gifts. They’re how our guides whisper to us, nudging us to revisit ourselves and our choices. They remind us that our journey’s are uniquely ours, filled with opportunities to grow in unexpected ways.
So, be the explorer. Embrace the unknown, let curiosity lead you and discover the parts of yourself that are ready to shine.
